Local Hero

This morning I read Amberdoty’s blog on Strollerderby quoting Robin Lim, a midwife and local hero who recently won the CNN Hero of the Year Award.  “Every baby’s first breath on Earth could be one of peace and love. Every mother should be healthy and strong. Every birth could be safe and loving. But our world is not there yet.” A very strong point that needs more attention as Mothers from all corners of the world need to continuously work together to make every and each childbirth a happy and safe one.

With this blog I am helping to spread the word about local hero’s becoming international hero’s by doing good naturally and the wonderful initiative of  Every Mother Counts. In this day and age where organizations and individuals are looking for good causes to devote their time and energy to, I hope some of you may think of this one. There may be local branches or people working with Every Mother Counts. Perhaps you can partner with them.

What Robin Lim teaches us is, that even if we have no money to spend on helping others, our enthusiasm, devoted spare time, ideas and energy counts for so much that we all should strive to become a local hero too.
